Petty Pool Trust success

Successfully secure funding from Aviva Community Fund.

Since the Community Broker Fund initiative began, Aviva have donated almost £300,000 to important causes in local communities. This year we were privileged to apply for funding on behalf of The Petty Pool Trusts MORE project, which is aimed at providing their students with meaningful opportunities for realistic employment whilst offering support to people within the local community.

The MORE projects first initiative was to provide an affordable gardening service to vulnerable and elderly people within the immediate residential areas surrounding the Petty Pool College. Any funding secured would go some way to purchase the tools required for the students to offer this service and gain practical skills that could assist them in securing future work placement.

Our bid for funding fought off stiff competition from over 200 other applicants and saw The Petty Pool get shortlisted onto the finalists list along with 23 other chosen charities.

On Tuesday 4th November John Powell and representatives from The Petty Pool Trust attended the finalists awards ceremony at the Honorary Artillery Company in the City of London, where Rugby World Cup Winner Will Greenwood and representatives from Aviva announced that The Petty Pool trust had been runners up and presented them with a cheque for £5,000.

We are very proud to be associated with such a worthwhile cause and look forward to keeping you updated with how the funding helps the MORE Project is progress.
